Feel like a cruisy day out? Bring the trusty steed and come hang with the club!

We’re kicking things off at Sutton Bakery for coffee, pastries, and a bit of a chat. Once everyone’s caffeinated and smiling, we’ll jump in the cars and take the scenic backroads all the way to Majors Creek Pub for a relaxed lunch.

October Driver Training: Skidpan Day (25 Oct 2026)

We are excited to announce our second driver training session for the year: The Skidpan at Sutton Road Driver Training Complex, Sunday 25 October 2026.

We will again be running a split day with 2 sessions. This will help to ensure everyone gets plenty of opportunity on the skid pan without delay. NOTE: There is the option to register for the entire day however, places are limited. Session times are as follows:

Morning: 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Afternoon: 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

For those that aren't familiar, the skidpan is a slippery circuit that replicates driving on snow/ice or hitting a patch of oil. It's smooth concrete, water is applied to provide the slide..... Vehicle speeds are less than 50 km/h and as the circuit is so slippery, there is very little wear on tyres and very low risk. The fun factor is extreme as you attempt to control your car with little or no traction!

The Skidpan will help you to better understand your vehicle and car control in general, including what to do when there is understeer or oversteer.

This is a great learning event for everyone. We strongly encourage new drivers to come and learn more about their vehicle and for experienced drivers to refresh their skills and of course, have fun! Skills learnt on the skidpan are invaluable and can save lives.

Some important things to note:

No burnouts or black marks to be left on the skid pan
Suitable clothing and appropriate footwear (no thongs, open-toed shoes, or high heels).
There are noise limits…..Vehicles must not exceed a noise limit of 85db at 30 meters. Any road registered vehicle *should* be less than this.
Participants are solely responsible for any property damages.
There will be more experienced members there to help out. If you would like some assistance please come see us after the briefing.

There will be light refreshments and tea/coffee facilities as well. We recommend bringing lunch with you however, if you need to buy lunch Queanbeyan is only a few minutes drive away....

*Drivers briefings will be at 7:50am sharp and 11:50am sharp. The fun begins at 8:00am and 12:00pm*.

Pricing: $135 ($160 for non-members) per vehicle, with multiple drivers allowed. Places are limited, register early to avoid disappointment!
